A no-nonsense, rugged utility knife unlike any other, the Transit 2-in-1 is designed with a special housing to securely hold a permanent felt tipped pen in the handle. Warehouse work is more efficient with this simple innovation. No more fumbling through pockets. No more searching for pens. Cut boxes and mark packages with the same tool. Built with an ambidextrous removable cutting shield, locking blade and textured rubber handle, the Transit 2-in-1 is an indispensable utility knife.
For the most part, It's an alright knife and I actually like it, but most reviews I have seen about it are negative and I can kinda understand why..
-The plastic feels really cheap; but it's actually pretty strong, I've dropped it many times and even stepped on it once. It also makes it very light and doesn't weigh down my belt.
-The safety shield gets caught on every damn thing the knife will come into contact with but it is removable apparently, I just haven't figured out how.
-The blade it came with got dull very fast, and like the safety shield I have yet to figure out how to remove it and replace it with a newer one.
-The pen/marker holder option is a brilliant idea and was the reason I bought it in the first place, Unfortunately it is specifically sized for a Sharpie Marker. Pens can fit if you wedge something in it.
As I said before I actually like it, and would use it everyday if I could figure out how to change the blade and remove the safety. Any tips would be greatly appreciated (send to firstname.lastname@example.org)
The Utility knife is extreme poor built quality. Thin plastic and flimsy.
Not normally the case with Gerber.
A bit disappointed.
