I really like this knife although the belt loop on the sheath has shown to be a bit weak the knife itself is great.

I LOVE THIS KNIFE! its great i use it for everything from prying to fine carving its a great knife i got the folding model but i am going to upgrade to the fixed. the combination of the high quality folding operation, the amazingly well made handle ergonomically and in looks, and last but not least the blade... curvature and strength. the thing is a beast! it eats all things plastic to wood! I love it ill buy another!!!

Fine knife , design has elements of much older designs coupled with new lines and has a true secure feel in the hands for all types of tasks.
Sharpens fine and gets a razor sharp edge if you know how to sharpen steel.
The sheath is nice enough but NEEDS A BETTER belt loop not stitched on the top.
GERBER ... in my eyes has the best belt knife for the money ... and I own 100's. of custom and factory knives.

A good balance of cost and knifeability. The hard plastic liner in the sheath is an unexpected extra. Design gives good ways to hold it for close work.. I am happy with this knife.

I work for a construction company and carry this knife on me everyday it's comfortable and never in the way. It was razor sharp out of the box. I hadn't used it much until one day i fell from the roof and my harness got caught around my neck and torso. I quickly pulled out my knife and cut myself free. Gerber's legendary sharpness came through. And for that reason this knife is always with me on the job, and worth its weight in gold.

this knife is probably the most perfect knife out there. the blade steel is 9cr18mov which holds a good edge and is very strong, the handle is grippy and durable. the sheath is simple but practical. this knife is well worth the money and i guarantee that is you buy this knife you won't be disappointed.

i am not saying that the metolius is a bad knife but i believe there are gerber knives out there that are better.
for example:
bear grylls compact fixed blade
