Cook, eat, drink, and be merry. With a blunt tip and a bottle opener, this compact knife is loaded with every feature a camper needs. A reversible pocket clip is designed for right or left carry, and a locking sheath adds versatile carry options.
Fixed knives are rarely this dynamic. From the compact size and sturdy feel to the bottle opener and blunt tip, the Epic is the perfect knife for any camper. Cook, eat, drink, and be merry. The reversible pocket clip is designed for right or left carry. The locking sheath allows for tip up or tip down carry.
Great knife but the sheath was the worst one I've ever used. The clip was too weak and the attachment point was awful.
The knife is good, nice and thick half serrated blade. I found nothing wrong with it after 3 months of use.
The only thing I would improve is the sheath's reversible clip. I already had the rig to conceal it under my clothes, so I decided to hang the knife. Well out of the box, the unused screw hole that your supposed to reverse the clip on, was messed up. Once I fixed it, the clip was (factory) bent in a way so that it was not level with the sheath. Now I have one screw left because I did not see this problem.
I'm not a major knife critic
If you combine this blade and bottle opener with the GDC soft handle and make it folding, you have a winner. Serrated half blade and bottle opener would vastly improve the GDC.
Es genial me gusta su diseño y no es incomodo de usar en la bolsa del pantalón
I carry this knife, on my side, every day. I have carried slip on sheathed knives, until I found this!
I have had this for a few weeks now, and I'm very happy with this set up! The blade is thick and very sharp(from the box)! It rides up high on my waste, and it fits very comfortably! It is easy to conceal there... I do not carry tip up, but it will wear that way, if you choose.
For any daily carry people out there, looking for an economical/practical expense, fixed blade, this is a great value!
its an overall unique and decent knife. it needs to have a larger handle, completely redesigned sheath, better blade steel (even 440C would be better), redesigned handle shape (the handle's finger choil is too small along with the oddly shaped handle) and needs to be a plain edge version. do all of that and people will adore this knife. trust me, i'm a knifemaker.
I would give it 5 stars because I really like this knife but for some reason it falls off from my belt alot when sitting/crouching down. The metal clip seems to be a bit too flexible when it should be stiff.
Other than that, I use it daily for all purposes. Whether Im in the office or outdoors. It fits nicely in the hands. The fine edge + serrated makes it even more handy in all situations.
Decent tool. Again, only offered in serrated. How hard is it to understand Gerber, that there is a market for fine edge in every one of your knives? The front choil is too large for a perfect, solid grip. Otherwise, a great knife.
I use this very often, I got it with the Apocalypse kit. Great value, INCREDIBLE edge retension. I've sharpened it once, but it's never lost its edge. As razor sharp as ever. You NEED this knife.
Been carrying this knife alongside my Glock everyday now for about a month and I'm quite pleased with it. Compact, sharp, and robust. I definitely recommend it for the price.
I like this knife and even have it attached to my get home bag. My clip has not failed yet but that is probably because I don't wear it on a belt because I was worried that it might. Mine is attached under some molly strips on my bag. Over all it is a good blade and if they did a redesign on the sheath I would give it more stars.
I have used this knife for several years now. Its fairly durable. I have average sized hands and the handle fits in my hand well. I do wish Gerber had a variant without the serrated edge. Also I am not sure but i think the sheath can dull the blade over time if you continually take the knife in and out. I have a nasty habit of playing with the knife and sheath pulling it in and out over and over. It still holds tight though.
Good knife but the handle is really thin and hurts my hand during long use. Ohterwise an awsome knife. Finish could be a little tougher though.
I wear this knife everyday you can reverse the sheath to carry inverted, it holds even after thousands of removals, blade holds an edge well limited rust even with heavy sweating.
I've had it for about a month now and have worn the Epic every day. I've used it many times. Great knife, reversable sheath is awesome (lefty). Great blade too, for the money.
Loved the knife. Until the clip failed and lost it in the water. Clip stay strength is weak. Slips off too easily, othe than that great knife.
Nice little blade, easy to handle when practicing SE Asian edged weapon defence techniques. The sheath is an interesting design, but I wonder whether the belt clip can live up to wear. Regardless, the Epic is a true gem with a unique design!!!
i have had this knife clipped on my pocket for edc for 3 months now and its been great! its accompanied me everywhere from daily chores, to cutting firewood, to fishing trips and backyard barbecues! the size of this knife is perfect for every day cutting chores, and wont get you weird looks like other larger fixed blades. defineately prefer this over a folder for edc! one gripe is the clip on sheath is weak making tip up carry impossible on a pack or vest. great blade but sheath needs work.
I love it!!!
I have abused it for years!!!
Never has let me down. I have had it on my hip 24/7
Going to buy another
this is the worst knife i have ever use.
Over-priced, clip is suck and I don't like that sheath
I really like this knife at first. I have no problems with the knife but the clip broke the first time that I used it. The clip needs to be re-worked to ensure that it doesn't break if you rub up against something. I would like another clip to replace it if I can find one.
Great little fixed blade! Sharpens up well and holds a razor edge for a long time, sheath has nothing good going for it though. Had a leather sheath made for it and now it is perfect. Although Gerber can be very shaky with quality, they won on this one
Would love to see this knife produced in a fine edge! Please Gerber!
Took this knife to Africa where the bottle opener came in handy, but the clip on the sheath worked loose and had to be super glued. Knife is good. Sheath needs redesigned so screws engage steel not plastic.
I bought it. I had to file down the ridges on the handle, because they were too sharp, but no big deal, as I really liked the look & feel of it. But I am totally pissed that the belt clip was so lame, that it kept popping off my various belts, I only wore it a half dozen times before it popped off my belt, unnoticed by me. So I've spent this whole week looking for it, and no luck. I am pissed. I bought a Schrade since, and the belt clip is so much better .... it has never popped off. I should have spent a bit more on the Bear.
Good utility knife but if you need a sharp blade choose something different. My third Gerber knife that I've gotten that I've had to sharpen from the factory before I've even used it. I think Gerber may be losing a little bit of its quality control.
its got good feel in your hand but the second you cut somthing with it the blade becomes super dull which pretty much makes it a paperweight.
Best knife I've owned. Small and light weight, carry it everywhere and feel "neked" with out it. Never had any real problems with the sheath, but I did notice that it has a specific groove that you need to be sure to guide it into correctly, but it was a matter of days before it eas sliding in and locking wiht ease. No problems with maintaining a sharp blade, but I did grade the edge to my liking and I sharpen it once or twice a week. Great knive, have had it for five years and its still an amazing knife, thanks Gerber!
Had the same problem with the sheath. At first the knife would not come out, and now it falls out. I fixed it with a strip of grey duct tape wrapped tightly around the exit point of the sheath, to compress the locking notch. You shouldn't have to resort to this.
Fantastic knife, awesome new design. But the sheath is crap. I carry this knife everyday. I recommend this knife to everyone.
pocket clip fell off gets dull after a few cuts on cardboard i like the design but i wish they used better quality materials and a better heat treat on the knife.
Great knife for the price. I use it as a everyday carry. Its Durable, light weight, and sharp out of the box (I did get mine sharpened more however). Also my clip hasn't fallen off like others have said in their reviews. Buy it.
The knife is well built and I do like the unique design. However, the sheath is absolute junk. The knife originally did not want to come out of the sheath and now it will not lock into position in the sheath.
ive had 2 different epics and now have to return the 2nd one because the clip keeps falling off im starting to lose faith in finding a cheaper reliable fixblade
Ive carried the epic everwhere from work to hiking in the mountains around my home.I've had no problems with the knife or the sheath.very sharp blade, has cut everything from plastic ties and shrinkwrap to wood and meat.a+
Overpriced but i have no problem with the serrated edge. Don't own it but I'm disappointed with news that the clip is falling off
I like the knife. but the clip also fell off. I carried it on duty as a back weapon but only for a short time. Now I have a good knive with a useless sheath. I thought Gerber was better than that.
I do wish that this was made without the serrated edge, not everyone wants that in a knife.
pocket clip fell off
it looks alot like a nice knife but its over priced
This is a handy little knife. If you've looked for an inexpensive fixed blade, but found some too large or small, this one is just about right. The bottle opener gives the bottom end a palm-filling size, but this knife doesn't come off bulky.
