Beautiful with amazing fit and finish.

I have a pretty decent collection of Stockman knives including Queen, Case, and Camillus. This Gerber equals the best I have. It is beautiful in form and function.

The back of the packaging says "MADE IN CHINA". The knife however is bereft of any marking other than "Gerber". I am wondering if the packaging was made in China but the knife possibly made somewhere else. It's feels and acts like a knife that could have been made in Seki, Japan. Regardless, it is a darn well made knife.

Impulse bought one of these at wall-mart for $20 because I knew that it was getting a steal of a deal. I was further surprised when I researched it on this site and found out that it was indeed a stag handle! It has a very good clip point blade with a sturdy lock for fine control. All blades come out with relative ease and for someone with next to no finger nails that's a good thing. Has a good weight to it and the grip is very comfortable, also has a very eloquent earthy design, which I like. One of the best pocket knives I've bought next to an Opinel.

This is a sweet design, hefty/beefy w/ the stag scales. Characteristic of stag, the contours on my knife are a bit irregular w. a bit of a depression on one side. This is acceptable and like many of the other quality stag scaled knives I own,.

Shape of clip point primary blade is elongated on the clip, Locking feature is a neat addition.

Embossed bolsters are "frosted" in reverse, not black grounded as shown in the photo here.

3 spring, bronze frame -- nicely done.

Produced in China, like most quality US brand knives these days. Steel is likely 440 or 440A stainless -- standard for production of US brand imports.

4 pin construction, 2 pins for the scales, 2 pins for the frame and springs. Nicely fitted and finished.

Also offered in a 1 blade and 2 blade style.

I love the design of this. I have an old german Priemer of similar blade designs, however it doesn't lock. This feature on the Stag makes it very attractive.
A quick note, does anyone know where this one is produced and which steel they are using?
