Air Ranger - Serrated
Designed by the acclaimed knife maker, William Harsey, Jr., the Air Ranger folding knife assists in determining solutions for everyday problems. With its elegant partially serrated drop point 3.26-inch blade, this folder packs a serious punch when tasked for assistance. The Air Ranger folding knife is a great, logical daily carry for addressing troublesome encounters with efficiency.
CROSSHATCH TEXTURED PERFORMANCE
Establishing the Air Ranger as distinct from similar folders is its innovative handle. A sophisticated crosshatch pattern etched along the machined aluminum surface offers the holder steady purchase during deployment of the blade. The one-handed open releases with a thumb using the dual thumb studs positioned near the hilt. Make dexterous use of the knife in all conditions, no matter if the hand holding it is covered in water, sweat, or mud, thanks to the Air Ranger’s ingeniously designed deeply grooved grip.
GET THE JOB DONE
Whether implementing its fine edge to make clean, accurate cuts or the serrated portion to saw through rope, twine, wood, or aluminum, the Air Ranger’s high carbon stainless steel blade makes short work of daily tasks. Slice open tape on the latest Internet delivery, cut cardboard to help with a child’s school project, or cut the tow rope when out boating using the blade of this light but rugged knife. The Air Ranger’s well-adhered stainless steel pocket clip reliably keeps it tethered to a pocket or belt loop. The lanyard hole provides optional tie-down and additional security for the sturdy knife.

Yes I agree please offer this knife in plain edge. Thanks
great knife very durable. broke mine. it lasted 3 months but that's pretty good for me. sharp and easy to keep a razor edge.
Best knife I've ever owned. Been with me daily for over ten years through NTC, JRTC, and three years in Iraq. Great grip and design and pops out quickly at the flick of a wrist.
I've had my air ranger for many years now and it is one of the best knives I've ever carried. Still locks up tight. Please offer this knife with the same color combination in a plain edge again.
Great knife, holds an edge very well. My knife has been to Iraq, Afghanistan twice, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Mexico, Canada, and El Salvador. It has been with me on countless fishing, hiking, SCUBA and hunting trips. I have had this knife for over a decade ( I received it as a gift on May 10th, 2002) and it has served me well every day. Why 4 of 5 and not 5 of 5... . I had to tighten the little Torx head screws and use thread holding compound to keep them from falling out. Unfortunately, I lost one anyhow. The knife still performs perfectly, despite the missing screw.
Bought this on sale for a fishing knife and it works flawlessly. I love the design and the anodized aluminum handle! One of the best knives I've owned.
I have a lot of knives, mostly fixed blade that I use for hiking and other outdoor hobbies. It occured to me a while ago that I have only owned a single folding knife for more than 10 years. I didn't even have a driver's license when I purchased this and now I have kids of my own. I now own two folding knives, both are this knife.
It's no substitute for a fixed blade knife, but what folding knife is? This knife is plenty strong for things you will do around town and I have recently used mine extensively for cutting holes in 2 liter bottle tops for various diy projects. I am thrusting the point of the knife in then using the blade to shave circular holes in the tops and it has worked so well it is ridiculous.
I have also used mine in a pinch to prepare wood and have even made fire with nothing more than this knife and a shoelace. I have taken for granted the fact that this knife has been with me for more than a decade.
I would say that the reasonable strength limit for this is twisting through wood or plastic, but probably avoid prying metal as the handle and blade have almost no give to them. Best folding knife I have ever owned, but also the only folding knife I have ever needed. Take that as you will.
Great open action and edge retention. the grip is wonderful and much better than the remix that I just got which was total crap.
this knife is amazing i've had it for a while now and it still is so clean and smooth. its style is also really cool it has an amazing grip i would buy these for my friends and even my 12 year old son. Overall great knife definitely worth the money
Great little knife I used to take care of field-dressing a deer in South Texas. It's sharp as a razor, cleans up easily and is a dream to sharpen. The clip keeps the knife securely attached - especially when trekking through heavy brush.
I got one of these 10 years ago and have beat the begeezus out of it since then. Never fails me. It's been so goo to me I almost feel guilty looking at new knives, haha
BEST GERBER EVER OWNED. I trade a spring assist to my friend for this knife he didn't like the grip but I love it its plain and simple yet gets the job done sleek knife fits in pockets well and I love the lanyard hole. I had the air ranger with the plastic handle until I sadly lost it to airport security in Israel. Great knife worth the money in full.
The Gerber Air Ranger is one of my favorite EDC knives, hands down. It's quality built, light, and has a sleek and unique look. It sits deep in the pocket with the clip, but it would be nice to have the option to carry tip up. Overall it is a fantastic blade.
bought the knife based on decent reviews. Really light weight and good price..$24 at a local store. Would like to see non serrated version as well as one w better steel..say ats-34 or 154 cm.
Awesome design, very light.
But the steel gets blunt VERY fast.
knife is well built. it should be assisted opening, and for the price be made in america
I mainly bought this knife because Cabella's had it on sale for $17.00 and that's about what I'd expect to pay for this knife. After 1 day the finish is coming off the handles and the pocket clip would be more useful if it was on the opposite end and the other side. As it is you've got to turn the knife over and around to open it after removing it. I bought a Schrade knife for $15.00 and the clip is mounted correctly and is much easier to open.
I have this knife with since 2006 when I joined the USAF. Yet, I lost the pocket clip, so that is a bummer. Other then that it's been to Kuwait, Iraq and amongst other places.
Thank you for such a great knife.
I just bought the Gerber Air Ranger, and for the price, you are getting great quality. As an experienced outdoors man and survivalist, I would highly recommend this knife to any one who is looking for a great looking, sturdy knife.
whenever I buy a new knife I want to be sure it can handle whatever I can throw at it and this is one of the best knives that Gerber has made it is very well built not to light but heavy enough to get the job done. I highly recommend this knife
I have the plain edge and have had it for many, many years. Excellent knife, easy to grab from the pocket and open one handed with out looking at it. The clip needed retightening once, but other wise it has been excellent. it has been used and abused and still holds a place clipped to the inside of my pants pocket. Bring back the plain edge knife as my fellow scouters are all envious of my excellent knife
I got my first Air Ranger over 12 years ago. Absolutely loved it. I used it while camping, hiking, biking, and for my EDC. Unfortunately a couple years back I lost track of it and have been looking for it in stores everywhere. I guess it never occurred to me to just look on this website! I'll be ordering another shortly. I highly recommend this knife.
I'm with Joshua on this one. Haven't had it for 13 years, probably 8 to 10. And for Nick - If they don't pull this plug - The best sharpener I've ever owned is Wicked Edge. Profile the edge and work from 100 to 10000 grit diamond stone and finish with 5 micron diamond strops. Best edge I've ever had.
I have had this knife for 4 years now, and the reason i'm giving it a 3 is because when i got the knife, the blade was not really sharp, so i sharpened it, and sharpened it, and sharpened it and it never got sharp, so i took it to my buddy and he made it like a razor and it gets really dull fast as well. Maybe i got a faulty knife but other than that, this knife is great. I cut open hundreds of boxes a day and this is amazing when its sharp. the grip is amazing, but i would like to have a tanto assisted open of it!
my knife is the first serrated blade i hve owned, love it.i have numerous knives, but none i like as well as this one.great knife.should make an air ranger with hole in blade to open with.
I have had this knife for 13 years its been in my right pocket every day sense the day i bought it. I worked for the forest service as a back country ranger repairing trails and removing downed trees from trails. I put this knife through hell and as long as you take care to clean and oil it up from time to time it takes a licking and keeps right on ticking.
I love this knife. Bought my first one when I was in the scouts 7 years ago but it was stolen. I now keep this with in arms reach on my gear on the fireline or canoeing in the back country of Alaska.
Surface is perfect for strike anywhere matches. The only downside is using this knife in the cold as the weather gets pretty cold in the far north
I really like this knife and use it every day, but sadly, I will only use the fine edge version. I wish Gerber would release the fine edge version, plus the Larger version as well.
I bought this off a Smoky Mountain catalog because of the price and reviews. Great little pocket knife and has good edge retention. No idea what kind of steel or where its made/assembled.
I definitely love my plain edge one had it for years lost the first one in the ocean then got another as a gift :) It's a hardcore knife by any means
This is the best and most robust knife I have ever had. I am tough on gear and this knife just performs very well. I love this knife. PLEASE bring this knife back in a plain edge.
