AR 3.50 - Black, Serrated
There comes a time in a guys life when he might start thinking he has too many knives. But when you show him one of these, well, maybe he starts thinking that there's room for one more. After all, the AR 3.0 and 3.5 represent hybrid knife design at its best. You're looking at the near-perfect combination of strength, balance, ergonomics, minimal weight, and a stylized look that can rightly be described as bad to the bone. Sure, the AR models are easily opened with one hand. Sure, their mechanics are silky smooth. Sure, the pocket-clip is the essence of convenience. And sure, they're built from a caliber of stainless steel that simply commands respect. But what you might not expect is the innovative blend of die-cast aluminum and Softgrip inserts in the handle. To a lot of guys, this is a must-have knife.

I've also had this knife for close to 8 years as my everyday carry knife, and I love it endlessly. I've gone through 2 pocket clips, but thankfully the warranty replaces them.
I keep getting it sharpened and it never lets me down, I love the weight, the grip, the action--nothing about this knife is a negative, I'll have this forever hopefully.
I've had my AR 3.5 for 8 years now, still my go to everyday knife. I love this thing. Been through 7 deployments and numerous other activities. Fishing, hunting, camping, in the workshop, or at work. This knife never leaves my side. I have several other knives but this one is my buddy. The other day I thought I lost it so I came here to try and buy a new one, but when the website loads I find it's discontinued. (Found mine by the way, wife moved it) Why would you do this? I have the 3.0 but the size and weight of the 3.5 just feels more comfortable to me. So I humbly ask please bring it back. Maybe even as a limited release kind of thing? But it would be nice to know I could get 3.5 anytime or get one for my friends and family members.
I bought this knife over 10 years ago when I lost the one I had. It's been in my pocket every day since unless I'm flying or swimming! It's been a screwdriver, prybar, bottle opener, and much more besides being a rugged knife. The pocket clip broke a while ago so I've been looking for a new knife. Since I really love this thing, I thought I'd come here to see if I could get a replacement clip. When I saw the picture of this knife as it was new, I realized I can never part with it. I forgot how doggone cool this knife looked!! Too bad they don't make it anymore but I'm glad I had the good sense to buy it way back when.
Not a fan of mystery steel or the serrated blade, I definitely favor a straight blade. The black coating I don't normally dig, but on this knife it works good and seemed tough. I have experienced very little wear in the couple years I have had it. Another plus is the soft grip insert which looks attractive with the aluminum handle while still offering some grip. If you can still find this knife for around 20 bucks then its well worth picking up.
The Gerber AR-3.5 serrated is my top choice of the 10 knives I own. Well balanced, holds an edge, and snaps open superfast with a flick of the thumb. From saltwater fishing to the mountains, this knife is always with me. Depending on activity, I may also carry a fillet, a heavy fixed, or a sheath knife; but the AR-3.5 is always the companion in my pocket when I adventure. From daily tasks to getting a blade into action one-handed in emergency... when I only carry one blade, the AR-3.5 is it.
i will pay 100$ to make it agin
incredible knife got this nearly 4 years ago and have had no issues with it . put this thing through everything and it still keeps cuttin
I have had this knife now for almost 10 years. It has been with me forever. I even lost this knife one winter and found it again in the spring. Good as new! Snow, rivers, lakes, dirt, mud, this knife does it all. It has even saved my life.
I have had this knife for a little over two years now and it has been through a whole lot. It has a solid lock and a blade that can hold an edge for quite a while. Its really too bad that it has been discontinued...
I've had this knife for 10 years. If you can imagine it I've done with it. I REALLY NEED ANOTHER ONE OR TWO!!!
This knife goes with me wherever I go and has seen much work. I bought this knife about 5 years ago and it hasn't failed me once. I am a little upset that they don't make it anymore as it is literally an irreplaceable tool. It's the most stout folding knife I've ever used and is the easiest knife to open to date. It has good weight to it to allow for heavy use and is balanced well enough to be delicate with. This truly is a wonderful knife.
I have had this knife for about 3 years. This knife has been through 4 deployments in that time as well as my everyday blade. I have had other knives that have lost screws and have even broken. But this one the AR 3.50 has been through everything! It even saved my life a few times. Hate to see it discontinued. I'll be deploying again soon guess which blade I'm taking. Thanks Gerber for my great blade!
I love this knife, had it about a year and use it everyday. Its done everything from work to gutting/skinning game even butchering meat it does it all. Only problem is the pocket clip broke.
This knife has seen it all: from fishing to hunting and from cutting through rope and tow straps to cutting open bags of cement. This knife has never failed me. I have had this knife for about 3 years now and I have never had any trouble with it until today when one of the screws holding the clip on it stripped out of its hole. I immediately came back to Gerber to look for another one, and I am a little disappointed that the AR 3.5 is no longer offered. Even though it is a large knife, it handles like no other. I intend to loctite the stripped screw back into the hole as well as purchase one of the new AR 3.0's. This is literally the best knife that I have ever owned.
Love it. Work, play, fishing, sawing, slicing, you name it, this knife has done it. Sad to see it discontinued. Only flaw is the clip. 1st one I bought, screw fell out. Liked it enough to have bought the same model to replace it, and this 2nd clip caught and bent out, negating its usefulness. Still have and use both of the knives, without clips. Going to try the warrenty department for clips and screws this time as I love the sturdy knives too much to part with them
This knife...let me you you about this knife... I got mine 8 years ago in highschool from a random kid for $15. I bought it instantly because i saw it was a Gerber. It has seen the bottom of lakes and rivers and because it has a shiny handle, i was able to dive down and get it. YES IT IS WORTH THE DIVE! This knife has literally saved my life by cutting me out of ropes and lines and even my seatbelt at one point. This blade only gets sharpened once a month and gets used daily. I'm glad there is still a variant yet almost identicle version still being sold. My only complaint is the Clip likes to un-bend and can allow the knife to fall out.
This was my first Gerber knife, it has served me flawlessly for over a decade now. I am giving it to my son for his birthday this December.
I had this knife for over a year. only reason ill be buyin a new one is cause the last one got lost. iv beat the crap out of this knife, and it still performs amazingly all of the time. by far the best iv ever owned.
Me and my dad have used this knife for a good while and it is just great! I thank gerber for makeing a great, robust knife like this Gerber 3.5
The knife itself is wonderfully rock solid. The "sturdy" pocket clip is a problem. It will bend and eventually break. It's held on by two small allen screws, so it's easy enough to remove and replace.
I, like many in the Infantry, have carried many knives over the last decade. I've owned fixed and folding blades as well as many styles of blade (point, tanto, etc). This knife has been my mainstay and while others have come and gone as well as failed, th
I have had 2 of these knives (lost the first one) and they are great! Out of the box they are razor sharp, and sturdy. When the blade is locked in place its not going anywhere! No wiggle in the blade at all, its more solid than some fixed position knif
