Keys? Check. Wallet? Check. Tactical knife? Check. At a mere 1.5 ounces, there’s no reason not to include the Gerber Mini Paraframe Tanto on your daily checklist. Answering the call for a minimalist tactical blade, this small knife is a simple but effective tool.

PARAFRAME DNA

Lighter than a set of car keys, this small knife comes from the same drawing board as its larger Paraframe siblings and gives new meaning to the term “traveling light.” The fine edge blade and tanto point are small but remain effective for a wide array of daily needs, from slicing through stubborn rope to opening a cardboard box.

SMALL DETAILS

Don’t let the 3-inch folded size of the Mini fool you; Gerber gives this little guy the same attention to detail that has won the larger Paraframe models a dedicated following. You’ll notice the same ergonomic metal handle and frame lock design, and it delivers the same positive blade engagement and balanced feel, even at this size.

For a knife of this size, its pretty damned good. I bought this in a store and it came out o the box sharp enough to dry shave my legs after a few weeks of not bothering to shave.

I don't like the opening and closing of this knife. I would have liked a little more of the spine side of the knife to be exposed for gripping and opening. I've never been able to use fingernail holes to open with. Either that, or a small thumbstud that sits in a recess in the scales.

The frame lock on this thing is very tough. Almost too tough for my fingers to release.

Overall though it's a great knife.

Even though it didn't came really sharp, I think it is a pretty sturdy, light, and well constructed.
It's my second Gerber blade and I'm already in love with the brand.

This is the best knife ever. I have owned about 5 of these over the last 3 years. The only reason I have owned so many is because TSG keeps taking them away. I wear mine clipped to my front pocket so that it is handy always, but since I am so comfortable with it always being there. Sometimes I forget to take it off before checking my luggage at the airport and it gets taken at the gate by TSG. So I end up going and buying another when I get home. This knife stays sharp for a long time, but when I do have to sharpen it, it takes an edge again rather easily, and stays sharp. Don't ever stop making this knife. Best Ever.

I recently purchased this blade from a sporting goods store for $8 and have been thoroughly impressed. I have loved Gerber knives for years and appreciate the quality and craftsmanship they put into their blades, even at a low price. This knife was razor sharp out of the box (shaving sharp) and had a solid lockup. Opening is easy, however you have to use two hands. Even with its light weight build, it is sturdy and comfortable in hand. Go give this one a try, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Got this knife as an EDC mainly because it was small inexpensive and had a clip. Although it was a little difficult to close at first, it's getting easier with use and is a solid little knife. How much more could you ask for just $13? One thing I would change is the hole through the handle nearest the tip of the blade when closed. If you wanted to use a lanyard or caribineer through there you'd risk dulling a part of the blade. I'd shrink the center most portion of this hole to protect the blade.
