The CFB was created when the US Army asked for a lightweight, sturdy, low-profile knife with great grip. Gerber answered the call with the CFB Compact Fixed Blade knife. Its full tang fortifies its strength, while its 154CM steel construction keeps the blade edge at hair-splitting sharpness for far longer than the average knife. The CFB, like all of our military products, is built in Portland, Oregon.
Distinct in its tanto shape, the CFB tanto-style 4.6-inch blade will brilliantly execute in capable hands. The partially serrated knife can be tasked to hack through a tree branch, feather a stick, saw paracord, or provide a first line of defense in combat. Cut, pry, scrape, or slice with this knife while relying on its well-balanced feel. The CFB knife is effortlessly fluid when applied properly by its operator.
SUBSTANTIAL YET LIGHTWEIGHT
With a grippy rubberized handle and substantial yet lightweight 4.9 ounces of heft, the CFB pulls no punches. Generous jimping along the top edge of the exposed steel of the tang as it curves into the hilt along with similar jimping on the underside of the handle provides an excellent tactile surface for the operator’s thumb and pinky to stabilize against while using the knife. Additionally, rubberized surfaces on both sides of the handle allow for enhanced grip. The slender rubber grips adhered to the handle of the no-glint black oxide blade’s tang maintain the slim overall profile of the knife. The CFB’s rounded pommel acts as an additional firm anchor in the user’s palm.
SECURE FOR THE LONG HAUL
Encased in a molded plastic friction lock sheath, with removable MOLLE compatible webbing, the CFB can go even lower-profile when tethered to the operator’s kit or person. Paracord attached to the base of the nylon sheath provides for optional leg tie-down.
awesome blade love it
Glass Breaker would have made it THE best fixed blade edc.
What is the difference between the tactical and military version to have a large p[rice difference?
A great night.
For a fixed blade knife, it should be bigger.
One od the better Gerbers for sure. This knife is truly amazing. Nothing else compares to it. The 154CM blade sharpens up easily and holds a wicked edge. It feels glorious in your hand and its extremely light. Its also built super tough. The sheath is also well built and high quality. I absolutely love my CFB! ps Anyone who complains about the tanto tip or serrations isn't using the knife for what it's designed for. It's a combat/tactical knife! Not a survival or camp knife!
I love it! Couldn't ask for a better knife. It was razor sharp when I got it and still is. My only complaint is with the sheath. The strap that holds the knife still is too big. Don't need it though cause it locks into place. Great job overall!
Love this knife Gerber, you really need to make a drop point next.
amazing i only wish it had a glass breaker
Ultimate knife. You dont need anything else in your pack. It wll do anything you want it to do without breaking. Its handle is so grippy. Love it, its great, and even though it is $154, its well worth it to see it say "Made in the USA" Get the CFB.
This knife looks like the replacement for the Yari. and if its anything like the Yari get it, i know its a little costy but thats because its made in the usa. my yari came super sharp and still is, three years later and i use it alot. so assuming this is like the yari it will be nice too.
This fixed blade is great! Balance and weight of blade feel great and strength of the blade is unmatched by any blade I have previously owned. Gerber #1 !!
the knife looks great but it basically looks the same as the prodigy knife. what makes this knife worth so much more money?
So glad to see Made in USA! Thank you Gerber
sweet... I had the Yari a few years ago. New grip looks way better
