In close quarters combat, speed of deployment is key. If your primary weapon system is compromised, you need an immediate, easily accessible solution to defend against physical threat. Developed with veteran Special Forces operators, our knife has a four-inch spear-point blade, dual serrations, rubberized grip and spike pommel that quickly transforms an empty hand into a versatile defense weapon. What sets this knife apart is its innovative sheath locking system– a “weapons hot” friction lock for fast, unrestrained access in close quarter situations and a secondary retention lock to ensure that the knife isn’t lost during normal on-duty activities.

The blade is great, and I can cut through anything I need to. The sheath is absolute trash though. It doesn't mount to any molle gear in an effective manner. I've got it set up that if I pull it straight up my armor it works(ish) but if I pull it just slightly off vertical, it gets all jacked up on the mount piece. Make a new sheath that works better and I'd give 5 stars all day, but since it is so easy to screw up the pull, it wouldn't be useful when I really need it.
This blade is amazing! The issue i have is i would like to see this blade have a rotating sheath attachment. Maybe, to put it behind your back or even put it on my IBA at the should for easier access when dismounting a vehicle. Otherwise, I love this design.
Saved my life many times, sadly took a few life's in combat. A part of me when deployed!
I don't own this blade yet but a partner of mine acquired one when they first came on the market. Everything I've seen and done with his Defacto sold me on it immediately. I've owned well over a dozen Gerber blades in my career and they've all performed flawlessly. I've staked my life on the ASEK version of the LMF II and I'm a Gerber man for life. The only thing that would keep me from acquiring this blade is if they plaster that idiot Bear Grylls logo on it. The Bear Grylls logo only ads a name to products that are already outstanding. In my personal opinion Gerber made a mistake partnering with him. I see why. His name lends recognition for customers that either don't know what really counts in a blade or they think having Bears name on their kit makes them "tacti-cool". Anyhow keep up the stellar work you're doing jn the shop.
I also agree that this knife should be available in black. It is exactly what my husband is looking for, but he would hate the color. Please make a black version so I don't have to pay to get it coated via second party.
I second the vote for more colors.
Paint it black and I will buy.
Love the knife! It's well balanced and has a great ergonomic design. The sheath, on the other hand, was not as good. It retained the knife well but the secondary lock didn't work and, while the knife was in the sheath, it raddled uncontrollable. Really need to work on the sheath!!!!!!
Same, make it BLACK!
I will buy it and you will sell much more.
Very useful knife and love the dual edge/serrated fixed blade with S30V,,,need more of this USA stuff!!
The price is nice compared to the autos; I personally prefer fixed blades.
Keep up the good work gerber, bringing back my faith in the company with these s30v models.
The color black is a very distinct color in a tactical enviroment, as there is very little actual black in nature. Therefore, the color black tends to stick out like a sore thumb even on a dark night. I feel that Gerber was spot on with the color choice for this knife. Futhermore I feel it lame that anyone would give it a one star rating based upon the color alone. Especially without purchasing and testing it.
I've handled this knife in a local shop. I love it. Love how much retention the sheath has. I just love everything about it.
I can't have it in tan though. Tan stands out too much.
If it ever comes out in black I will buy it in an instant.
Very Awesome Knife! Love the fact that it is made in the USA and has S30V steel!
Im glad you guys made this knife in flat dark earth. most people that will actually use this knife operationally hate any gear that is black, since it stands out in the forest and desert. thanks for not catering to the mall ninjas
I would love to have this knife on my vest, but will have to keep shopping with black not being available.
Seems like a great knife but make it in black then i will buy it.
good knife material but a terrible sheath and I think the knife should be a little bit heavier.
I don't own this knife yet and gave it one star because of the color. I would buy one immediately if it was black. Make a black version and they will sell better.
Wish this knife came in a multitude of color options.
Love the knife! I found it well-balanced and comfortable. The sheath, however, needs work. I like the concept of a locking mechanism but the retainer is too stiff and makes it difficult to remove. For what it's worth, I think a sheath similar to the LMF II would be a perfect fit for this knife as it would allow a variety of mounting options (including more straightforward molle attachment) and easier deployment in a crisis.
I don't own this knife yet because it isn't in black yet, but if it becomes available in black, I will definitely be one of the first people to buy it because of all the great things I've heard about it, and also the fact that it is made in the USA. ^_^
GREAT knife! BAD sheath. The ONLY thing I like about the sheath is that it does not giggle around and make noise when the blade is in it. Needs a belt clip or something of that sort for us civilians to use.
looks ok, but will only buy it if there is a black edition
Awesome knife. Good quality. I wish there was a different way to attach it to my belt.
Wonderful Knife! excellent quality. I like the sheath, the lock is a little stiff and im hoping it loosens a little right now could almost pull off my belt, pack, or whatever its attatched to before the blade releases.
only real complaint is the clip would rather have another option. the one it comes with just has too much give in it no matter what it is attatched too it wont hold tight to the attatched matterial. so i pull and i get the sheath, blade, and everything attatched instead of just the blade
Great quality knife. Very good grip. Perfect for CQC. I would prefer a black finish.
I love this, knife
Great knife, stiff sheath. I am hoping the friction lock will loosen a bit. You could almost pull your pack off before the knife would come out.
Just received mine yesterday. Haven't used it yet but can't wait to. Feels good in the hand, a little hard to get out of the sheath but that can be a good thing. I'm like everyone else though, NEEDS TO BE IN OFFERED IN BLACK!
Great knife, was looking at benchmades, this one caught my eye, after handling I was sold, sheath locks up tight, grip works well even with sweaty hands. Only complaint is it doesn't come with a way to clip it to the inside of your pants, but thats more a flaw with me than the knife.
Battle ready out of the box. This is the best CQB dagger I have ever owned.
this is a heavy duty knife that wont break, from usage.....Unlike other people, i loved the sheath it came with
awesome knife, worth every penny. great for camping and outdoors
Knife is fantastic! However, as other have stated the sheath doesn't lock at all. In fact if you watch the slide lock mechanism it functionally does not does not put any additional resistance on the knife. Im wondering if this is a manufacturing or design defect. Mine also did not come with the MOLLE attachment band and described.
The knife was sharp out the box, everything about the knife was great except for it being butt heavy, i'd prefer the handle to be a bit heavier. Sheath was a fail for me. The locking mechanism doesn't keep the knife secure and could still be tugged out. I don't recommend trusting this sheath to keep your knife in if you are running or jumping around alot. Other than that its killer blade.
I see why its used for close quarter battle. Its viscious. I wouldnt want to be on the recieving end of it. Its friction lock is great to get out in a hurry instead of fumbling to unbutton the clip holding the knife in on the sheath. i would buy it. Oh thanks gerber for making it in the USA.
How do people HAVE this knife already, when Gerber says it is "coming soon"???
I want mine already!!!
Oh, and another vote for black, please
This is certainly one of the very best designed knives i have ever purchased.
Out of the box sharpness is razor sharp.
The handle is extremely grippy.
Never thought I'd get this excited about a knife sheath: The sheath is extremely lightweight, completely silent, perfect retention; extremely low-profile. Basically, you can get to your knife in a millisecond, if need be.
You can tell they put a LOT of engineering thought into this brilliant sheath.
Oh, and it's made in the USA. Fantastic work Gerber.
this knife looks mean. Im ready for it to be available!
Received mine last week. Simply Awsome. Good fit to hand. Thick fast blade. Double seration fantastic, increased cutting power. Sheath also awsome, quick, secure. Everyone should have one along with Silver Trident, Mark II and Back-up when all else fails. The terrible three. Thank you GERBER.
also in black PLEASE !!!!!!
It would be nice to have one of these in black!
PLEASE one in black also.
This knife looks great and has some really great sounding features, im a knife collector and would love to one day add this one to my collection! Keep up the great American made work Gerber!
Thank you for your service, Tim.
this looks amazing. good sheath mec
