This kit puts individual equipment close at hand in an easy to carry, MOLLE compatible sheath. Made in America for the American soldier, this allows the user to maintain their weapon, keep a light source nearby, cut out of an emergency, and tackle any task needing a multi-tool.
The Individual Deployment Kit gives the Soldier the ability to: maintain their weapon; see what they are doing in low light conditions; tackle almost any task requiring a tool; and cut out of any emergency situation. This kit puts the individual equipment close at hand to get the job done in a lightweight, easy to carry nylon sheath.
Active Duty Marine. This is the single best kit I recommended to my Gunny. Every Marine should add this to their checklist when deploying or when in the field. Don't worry about the civilians crying about how they can't purchase this kit.
If the above posters haven't figured out you can buy any of the "need credential" tools from gerber from third party vendors, oh well. Just keep on complaining. I'm still trying to figure out what gerber not selling these to private individuals has to do with infringing on the "second", which I assume means second amendment.
I will never buy anything from you gerber. You infringe on my second. Hopefully nobody buyes from you.
It's a strap cutter, flashlight, multitool, and another gadget to maintain a firearm. Does there need to be a government contract to own all these items at once in a nylon sheath? NO, hardly. For the FGO, get a grip, your post is out of place and a bit insulting.
Great kit. The government makes manufacturers restrict items like this as a condition of receiving the government contract. This has been going on since 2010. I suggest people stop blaming the manufacturers and place blame where it belongs, on the backs of government officials who fear an armed people and hope the public never figures out that items such as this are protected by the Second Amendment. Come on, people, think! It is the right to keep and bear ARMS not just the subset of arms known as firearms. If government makes restrictions on sellers it is every bit as much an infringement of the RKBA as outright banning items.
As those have commented before me, there is no apparent reason for this, or many other items to "require credentials" I could provide credentials that would have nothing to do with the military, and by your ambiguous criteria you should send it to me...why are these queries going un-answered, do customer concerns not hold value to Gerber? I'm sure we can all find a manufacturer with respect enough for its clients to answer questions and/or justify questionable policy, seriously, do I have to send a copy of my vehicle registration to show I own an SUV to be able to purchase the SUV kit? Many of us have firearms and apparently Gerber is making enough money to send us to other manufacturers for their cleaning and maintenance? Interesting how I'm forced to give Gerber at least one star, I'll let you guess if it's for customer service...
It is really ridiculous that you would not allow people to purchase this. Does being apart of a large oil and gas company emergency response team constitute being a first responder? And what do I have to do to prove that? Just check the Pro Program box while signing up?
every thing that come in this kit if available to the PUBLIC, I can buy your multi tool, I can buy billions of flashlights, the tool for your AR is nothing special and the hook is no different that a gut hook used for skinning when hunting hello I would buy one of these hands down but you are stupid enough to no sell to the general public hello don't be stupid and sell to the general public
I am military so i can buy this but i have bought all of these items minus the holster without using my military status. These are all nice tools to have but seriously gerber theres nothing special about a rifle cleaning tool, a multitool, and a flash light
The MOLLE pouch is awesome, can't find anything like it on the market and is perfect for all those "extra" tools.
Good day Sir/Madam,
Is it possible for me to procure or am I qualified to buy this product . I am an active military in the Philippines, what requirements do you need inorder for me to get one of this.
Thank you and GOD bless
There are plenty of things on this site for citizens to purchase. We as military get to buy certain things that civilians aren't allowed to have and that's just the way it is! So all you winney pukes please go buy your equipment and knives etc on the civilian portion of this site and stop looking at things you can't have.
By the way this is a pretty well put together kit that I actually have attached to my vest. It has pretty much everything I need for flights and simple maintenance
The reason you have to have credentials is because this is a combo pack that has been made for a US Gov't contract. There for they are unable to sell them to the public until a preset date aligned in their contract. No reason to be spiteful, if you want one so bad find a member of the military befriend them and have them order one for you, if you ask them nicely they may just give you the one they were issued.
This is an amazing kit, that should be given to every Soldier enroute overseas.
Love the Gerber credential aspect. I have many Gerber tools that I have received from the Army that work well in my firefighter side of life. KEEP IT UP
The 'credentials' request is a marketing ploy to get civilians to think Gerber is the REAL DEAL. Some nice stuff, sure, but it's not SOG Blackhawks, etc. that silly BG logo made you a lot of money in the civilian market so just be a civilian market company.
As far as I'm concerned this is a great kit! As for the restriction I'm assuming it's a packaged deal made for the MILITARY. So no military or dod certs = no deal for you.
I see a lot of complaints about certain items, like this one, not being available to the public. To those people I say please stop whining. Gerber gives special consideration on certain items to the men and women who serve this country and their communities as their way of saying "thank you" for our service. The items that require credentials to purchase may not be any more dangerous or much different from the civilian offerings, but they're tools that service men and women count on in their everyday duties. This kit, in particular, was out together with that in mind. Anyone can probably find the items to purchase separately and build their own version of this kit, or alter the contents to make it more suitable to their daily wants/needs. But this was put together as a convenient offering to our service people, and I don't see how anyone else can really feel good complaining about not being able to purchase it. To me that would be like arguing with a store about why I'm not allowed to park my vehicle in a handicapped parking space. Yes, this is a very cool item. Yes, it may look awesome on your bug-out bag for all you "preppers" out there. But I'm sure if you want something like this, or any of the other "credentials required" items, with the exception of auto knives, then you'll be able to think up something similar for yourself. But please, stop complaining and try to see the good in the fact that this company is showing appreciation to their customers in certain occupations.
I have been looking for a good flashlight multi tool combo heck take out what we cant have add a fire starter and sell to public or just sell the holstet ill make my own combo till then one star
what about this kit should be restricted to the public I am a responsible citizen and I would like to know why I am restricted to this
This is one of the coolest kits i have ever seen, but just because you use it in the military does NOT mean i is dangerous, if you don't make people have credentials, you would make more money.
My brother is in the Army and I would love to give him this for a gift. I guess I will have to just give him the money to buy it himself.
This kit looks great. The guy that reviewed it seems pleased. I could really use this going to the range, camping, bush crafing and just have it to throw in the car when ever i might need it. To bad i cant buy it. What are credentials anyways? Oh well. Gerber you could be making money on me but instead you choose not to sell it to me.
This kit is a is a very useful, I have used it to work on my simulation devices, it is a very versatile kit, by having the various tools items within it, it has made it easier to do my job, instead of carrier a bag of tools with me, I have just this one kit with me while I do maintenance on my weapons and with proper maintenance to the tool it remains a very effective tool for maintaining my weapons. I strongly recommend this to any Military, Tactical personnel.
